Many monikers have been used recently for Todi: ‘the ideal city’ or ‘the most livable city in the world’. If some disagree now, they might not in 5 years, because of Todi’s commitment to the Citta Lenta (Slow City) movement.
As a traveler in Todi, you’ll quickly adapt to its pace of life. Restaurants take longer, the entire town shuts down for a three-hour ( or more) midday break and people seem to walk a little slower. Todi was seemingly built to wander around aimlessly in, breathing in the fresh air and taking in the beauty of one of the most historically preserved towns in Umbria. There are a good amount of museums, churches and monuments to keep a visitor occupied for a day.
